⛩🍽 🍞 Good morning kingdom people bless you and thanks for being here at THE MASTER’S TABLE WE MUST KEEP OUR MINDS STAYED ON JESUS. As we follow Jesus, He will be expecting us to do some “good deeds.” A deed may not appear good to humans but be pleasing to God; but only if it their motives are rooted in a sincere love for Him and a desire to do His will, not for personal recognition or gain. While human beings often focus on outward behavior, God looks at the heart and the internal motivation behind all deeds.
Selfish ambition, a desire for praise, seeking approval, entitlement, or using one’s giving or actions for personal pleasure are examples of impure motives that God does not honor. Christians are encouraged to constantly evaluate their motives and be honest about the underlying reasons for their actions, recognizing the deceitfulness of the human heart. We must Seek God’s Guidance pray to God for direction and relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit helps us as believers to discern and align our motives with God’s will.
We must be about Cultivating humility and considering others’ interests above our own. This is essential for pure motives, as opposed to selfish ambition or vanity. We must be about Focusing on Grace: Recognizing that salvation is a gift of grace, rather than something to be earned by good works, helps to prevent motives from becoming self-serving or prideful.
Love for God and others: According to the Bible, the greatest commandment is to love God completely, and the second is to love one’s neighbor as oneself. This love is the central, guiding principle of Christian motivation. It is both a response to God’s love for humanity and a compassionate, practical love for others.
Purpose: The belief that God has a sovereign and meaningful plan for each individual provides a powerful source of motivation. Christians are called to live a purposeful life that aligns with God’s will, which can inspire resilience and sustained effort. This includes everything from large-scale service to everyday tasks, be all done “as for the Lord”.
The Choice is Ours… Christians do “good deeds” MAINLY out of love for God and neighbor, as a response of gratitude for salvation, and to glorify God. These actions are seen as a fruit of their relationship with God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and serve to demonstrate the truth of the gospel and build a Christ-like character. Good deeds are not a means to earn salvation but an expression of the transformed life that God gives to believers.
Be Blessed in this new week let “good deeds” be all done “as for the Lord”. AMEN 🩸✝️🩸✝️🩸✝️.
